History

November 28th.1942. Fire broke out when loading aviation fuel at Tobruk. Ship scuttled in shallow water to extinguish the blaze. Raised and towed to Alexandria. Acquired by the Ministry of War Transport with C.N.Co. as managers.

1946. Sold to the British India Steam Navigation Co. renamed "Kilwa" and placed on the East African servie Mombassa-Durban.

April 15th.1956. Arrived Hong Kong for breaking up by Chiap Hua Mfy. Co.

Service

The Kiungchow was deployed on the monthly Hong Kong-Haihow-Pakhoi-Haiphong / Indo China service.
