Biography
Previous Employment Served a 5 year apprenticeship with the Rangoon I.F.Co. Previous sea going experience, a total of 22 years with the China Merchants Steam navigation Co. and the Indo-China Steam navigation Co.
October 4th 1934. Joined C.N.Co. in Shanghai, not on Agreement. sailed as 3rd. Engineer. Employed on the Tsinan II, Hoihow II, Tungchow II / Hsin Peking II, Chengtu I, and Kingyuan then he was paid off on May 25th 1936.
December 19th 1936. Rejoined C.N.Co., employed on the Shuntien II, Kaying, Kweiyang II, when he fractured his right arm on 9 November 1943, necessitating being on 51 days sick leave, in Bombay. Then placed on reserve.
March 8th 1944. Joined the Kingyuan as 3/E, being aboard the vessel when gutted by fire in Bombay caused by the explosion on the Fort Stickine on April 14th 1944.
July 17th.1945. London Gazette. Appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire for good services in the S.S. Kingyuan.
May 4th. 1944. Joined the Kweiyang II as 3/E.
March 12th.1947. Obtained a Temporary 2nd Class Engineers Permit, then sailed as 2/E on the Kweiyang II.
September 18th 1948 to December 1st 1948 Confined to hospital in Hong Kong suffering from diabetes, then sailed as 2/E Tsinan II, Pakhoi III, and Kweiyang II.
May 5th 1949. Admitted to hospital, probably on account of his diabetes.
June 15th. 1949. Invalided out of the C.N.Co service as unfit for service, due to his health.
