History
Ship capacity:- 446 TEU including (50 reefer), or 592 cars. the car decks running alongside hold 2,3 & 4. On the poop there was capacity for up to sixteen taller vehicles. Container capacity on deck - 180. Total crew - 32.
1977. Delivered to Daiwa Kaiun K.K., Shimoniseki, as the "Pacific Princess", for the Korea/Japan-Philippines-Indonsia service.
1980. Ownership changed to Helm World Shipping S.A., Singapore. No change in name or service. Managers:- Norse Management Co. (Pte), Singapore. Panama flag.
Aug 1981. Bought jointly by CNCo. and Halsbury Shipping. Funnel colour now a dark blue.
1982. Renamed "Pacific Islander" and employed on the named Bali Hai service, the same route.
1983. CNCo. now the sole owners. No change in service or flag.
1994. Sold to the subsidiary of Probo Two Ltd. with CNCo. as managers.
2003. Sold to Taiwan Maritime Transportation Co. Renamed "Ducky Saphire".
June 1st.2011. Arrived at Chittagong for Breaking up. Beached on June 15th. 2011.
