This Chief class of vessel is specifically designed to meet the unique demands of the trade between Australia and New Guinea. The design incorporates hydraulic tween decks and hatch covers, 60mt electric cranes providing a combined heavy lift capacity of 120mt. The ships have been designed to provide maximum versatility to carry a wide range of cargo types including break-bulk, over dimensional and heavy lift cargoes.
