The Template:Convert/LonAmonSoff sets the unit name/symbol and separator/space for the converted output amount, as defined by the WP:MOS guide, depending on the existence of the unit symbol {u} to put a non-breaking space (&nbsp) for non-wrapped text. This template invokes {{Convert/outsep}} to select either a singular or plural unit name, depending on the output amount {1}. For non-abbreviated units (such as "acre"), there is no {u}, so {n} or {l} must be used (as "acre" or "acres").
