Parameters

This template has a large number of parameters, all of which are optional:

• name - The name that will appear above the top line of the infobox
• number - The ship number
• lloyds_reg_num - Lloyd's Register number
• image - The filename for the infobox image. Use the bare image name, ie |image=Example.jpg not |image=[[File:Example.jpg]]
• alt - alternative text for the image, displayed when the image cannot be shown (such as for visually impaired users, or for spoken articles)
• imagesize - The size of the image in pixels (as in imagesize= 200), default value is 300; to use the image's actual size, specify imagesize as a blank value (as in imagesize= |).
• caption - The image caption that will be displayed
• type - The vessel type. (eg "General Cargo", "tug")
• hatnote - A label-less centered text field for notices. Appears below type.
• gross_registered - The gross registered tonnage
• builder - The ship's builder
• deliverydate - The date which the ship was delivered
• hull - The hull matterial
• decks - The number of decks
• length - The ship's total length
• width - The ship's total width
• depth - The ship's total depth
• forecastle - The height of the forecastle
• bridge - The height of the bridge
• passengers - The amount of passenger acommodation
• engine_builder - The engine builder
• engine_supplier - The engine supplier
• engine_type - The specific engine type
• engine_cylinders - The number of engine cylinders
• engine_stroke - The engine stroke
• engine_power - The engine power output
• engine_rpm - The number of engine RPMs
• propulsion_mode - Propulsion mode used.
• speed - The speed of the vessel
• rigged - How the vessel is rigged
• displacement - The displacement
• deadweight - The deadweight
• bale_capacity - The bale capacity
• block_coeff - The block coefficient
• powertype - The type of power that the ship employs (e.g. "steam", "diesel", etc.)
• aspiration - The method that the engine uses to mix fuel and air. (e.g. "natural", "supercharged")
• condenser_cooling_surface - The condenser cooling surface area
• steam_expansion_ratio - The steam expansion ratio
• ratio_of_air_pump_capacity_to_lp_cylinder_volume - Ratio
• ratio_of_sw_circulating_pump_capacity_to_lp_cylinder_volume - Ratio
• boiler - The ship's boiler(s)
• boiler_pressure - The total boiler pressure rating
• boiler_dimensions - The boiler dimensions
• total_heating_surface - Total Heating Surface
• total_grate_area - Total grate area
• steam_space_volume - Steam space volume
• fuel - The type of fuel used. (e.g. "coal")
• furnace - The type/model of the furnance(s)
• furnace_dimensions - The total dimensions of the furnance(s)
• draught - natural / forced draught
• transmission - The type/ratio of transmission used
• generator - The ship's generator type/model
• generator_power - Generator power
• generator_volts - Generator voltage
• generator_freq - Generator frequency. 0 for DC.
• propeller - The ship's propeller type/model
• propeller_blades - Number of propeller blades
• propeller_formation - Propeller formation
• propeller_material - Propeller material
• built_classification_society - Built Classification Society
• designer - The name of the ship's designer
• keel_laid_date - The date the keep was laid
• launch_date - The date that the ship was launched
• launch_by_whom - By whom was the ship was launched
• original_owner - Original Owner
• delivered_to_owner - Delivered to owner
• locale - The locale where the ship operated
• retiredate - The date the ship was retired from regular service
  • withdrawndate - Commonwealth English equivalent of retiredate above
• scrapdate - The date the ship was scrapped
• currentowner - The ship's current owner
• disposition - The ship's current disposition
• notes - text box for infobox footnotes if needed
