History
Built as a blockade runner for use in the American Civil war.
1863. Completed for George Barnet & Co. London. The two vessels "Tunsin" and "Glengyle" were the first ships purchased to start the new company.
1864, May 25th. Arrived in Shanghai as "Tunsin" and placed on Ningpo-Hankow service. Hull painted white.
1867. March. Sold to F.A.Groom, Shanghai, for a Chinese syndicate, managed by Glover & Co.
1867. Transfered to Union Steam Navigation Co., Shanghai, with same managers.
1873, March 31st. Taken over and placed on CNCo's first sailing on the Shanghai - Hankow service.
1880. Hull painted a light grey.
1885 May.Converted into a pontoon landing stage at Swatow.
