History
Dec 1st. 1939. Attacked by pirates at San Ho Kang at the mouth of Yangtse river estuary, the cargo being looted. In the melee that took place the crew fought back inflicting some casualties on the pirates, prior to the arrival of a British gun boat which rescued the ship, in the process capturing some of the pirates.
Jan 11th.1942. Bombed and sunk at Muar River, Johore.\, by Japanese aircraft. Salvaged by the Japanese and commisioned as "Unryu Maru" in Nov. 1944.
Dec 31st 1944. Torpedoed and sunk off Port Blair, Andaman Islands, by the H.M.Submarine "Shakespeare".
